Spicy Lemon Linguine with Chestnut Mushrooms

Lemon linguine in a white ceramic bowl on a wood chopping block

Spicy Lemon Linguine is the first dish of the #TVDinners series where I recreate the recipes of dishes made or eaten by the characters of my favorite comfort movies and tv shows.

My favorite comfort movie is the film “Chef” written, directed, and starring Jon Favreau as Karl, a disgruntled chef who’s recently left his restaurant over creative differences with its owner.

Scarlett Johansson plays Karl’s love interest, Mollie and the dish appears in a scene where Karl brings Mollie back to his place with the promise of a late-night dinner and he seduces Molly with the preparation of the Lemon Linguine. It’s the scene where we finally understand the attraction between the two.

As the shots cut between Molly and Karl,  we don’t know if she’s turned on by him or the food. So if you like pasta, if you like spicy, if you like lemon, you will love this dish.
